Albrecht and Albert Durer were brothers and lived in the 15th century Germany. Both wanted to study at an art academy but didn’t have the means to do so. They tossed a coin and decided that Albert will work in the mine while Albrecht would study and later Albrecht would pay for the Albert’s studies. Albert began working in the mines and after four years his hands were in bad shape. One day Albrecht saw his brother praying to the God with his wretched hands. He was impressed so much that he immediately drew a painting of his brother’s hands. Praying hand tattoos are a symbol of never ending love in which one can sacrifice anything for the loved one. They are also one of the most popular tattoos on the market.
