Old School Tattoos
Old school tattoos are also known as ‘traditional tattoos’ and they refer to traditional western tattoo styles. Black outlines, extensive use of red and green colours distinguish old school tattoos from other styles. At the beginning of the 20th century, old school tattoos were sailors’ favourite but after the Second World War, they fell into disrepute because a lot of notorious gangs were using them. Old school tattoos, however, are back on the screen as tattoos become more acceptable in the 21st century and they are occasionally referred to as ‘Nu Skool’ tattoos.
