Aztecs were a civilisation which controlled major parts of present day Mexico during the 14th, 15th and the 16th centuries. They were excellent astronomers and human sacrifice was common among them. The Spaniards, who later conquered the Aztecs, were not only shocked to come across this peculiar Civilisation but their missionaries often misunderstood the Aztecs’ customs, religions etc. Aztec tattoos represent something mysterious, unknown and misunderstood by the mainstream people.
